What happens on an island that is a magnet for tourism when the season comes to an end? How do public servants—firefighters, police officers, and others—experience the transition from the frenetic pace of summer? Does the State ensure their dignified living conditions in the face of the relentless demands of tourism?

This is the third documentary by the Sustainable Cyclades team, presented by the Journalism Initiative with the support of the Athena I. Martinou Foundation.

It is a moving look at everyday life in the Cyclades and the challenges it faces when the tide of tourism recedes—and only the permanent residents remain on the island, along with representatives of a state that fails to adequately care for either group.
